13 June 2012, Geneva
Dear SCM friends,
Greetings from Geneva!
The WSCF is proud to send a strong delegation to the World Council of Churches' AGAPE Forum on Poverty, Wealth and Ecology (PWE), taking place 18-22 June 2012 in Bogor, Indonesia in the framework of our global Eco-Justice Programme.
The PWE is a programme that has held regional consultations since 2007, engaging churches and specialized ministries in consultative research on and analyzing the links between poverty, wealth, and ecology. The WSCF has been a part of many of these regional meetings, and in our current Eco-Justice Programme we are in agreement that ecological and economic issues are interlinked and must be addressed together.
The WCC invited WSCF to bring a fully-funded delegation to the culminating global forum and asked us to present a reflection on Youth and Eco-Justice on Thursday, June 21.
Our delegation is:
Ms. Georgine K. Djeutane, Regional Secretary, WSCF Africa Regional Secretary
Mr. Luciano Kovacs, Regional Secretary, WSCF North-America Regional Secretary
Ms. Janejinda Pawadee, WSCF Vice-chair
Ms. Dianet de la Caridad Martínez Valdés, Student Christian Movement Cuba
Rev. Amos Kamugisha Mushendwa , Student Christian Movement Tanzania
Mr. Jimmi R. P. Tampubolon, Student Christian Movement Indonesia
Mr. Shibi Peter, Student Christian Movement India
Please hold them in your prayers as they represent all of us and think together with the ecumenical community about how to play a role in creating a more just, healthy world.
